Sudhir Venkatesan, MPH, PhD, is currently Director, Medical and Payer Evidence Statistics at AstraZeneca, Cambridge, UK. He is a statistician with experience spanning frequentist statistics, infectious disease modelling and machine learning. He is currently involved in several real-world evidence studies focussing on the Vaccines and Immunetherapies pipeline at AstraZeneca. Prior to joining AstraZeneca, Sudhir worked at a contract research organisation in London, and before that, he spent several years working at the WHO Collaborating Centre for Pandemic Influenza (University of Nottingham) investigating effectiveness of antiviral treatments during the 2009 A(H1N1) influenza pandemic. Outside of AstraZeneca, Sudhir has honorary appointments at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, where he teaches on the MSc course for Health Data Science.
