Dr. Oliver Scholle, MSc, is a research scientist in the Department of Clinical Epidemiology at the Leibniz Institute for Prevention Research and Epidemiology – BIPS in Bremen, Germany, a position he has held since October 2014. He completed his PhD (Dr. rer. nat.) at the University of Bremen in 2020. His research focuses on pharmacoepidemiology, primarily utilizing statutory health insurance data. Current projects include drug utilization studies, with a particular emphasis on opioids, thyroid medications, and antibiotics. Dr. Scholle holds a Master of Science in Consumer Health Care from Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, which he completed part-time from 2012 to 2014. Prior to his academic career, he worked in community pharmacies from 2010 to 2014, following his pharmacy studies at the Universities of Marburg and Kiel.
