Assistant Professor
Department of Epidemiology and Prevention, Wake Forest School of Medicine
I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Epidemiology and Prevention within the Division of Public Health Sciences in the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. I received a PhD and MSPH in Epidemiology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and have received extensive training in pharmacoepidemiologic methods, causal inference, and cancer outcomes research. My research is focused on the intersections of aging, oncology, and pharmaceutical interventions. The overall objective of my work is to improve the health and well-being of older adults, with a particular focus on older cancer survivors. I do this through two broad research objectives: 1) to improve the quality of aging and cancer outcomes research through methodological development and validation and 2) to use epidemiologic and statistical methods to generate real-world evidence that supports interventions to improve the quality of care for older adults with cancer. My research primarily draws on large non-experimental databases, including prospective cohorts, electronic health records, insurance claims, and patient registries.
