Monica Jung (BPharm(Hons) BSci) is a third year PhD candidate at Monash Addiction Research Centre, Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences, and at the Centre for Medicine Use and Safety, Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Monash University, Australia. Her research involves utilising health care data to understand safe and effective use of prescription opioids, and has led research that provide some of the first real-world evidence on the trajectories and predictors of opioid taper in Australian primary care. As a practising clinical pharmacist at Alfred Health, Monica integrates her clinical experience into her research. Monica completed the Graduate Entry Pharmacy program at Monash University. Prior to studying pharmacy, Monica completed a degree in biochemistry at University of Rochester, New York.
