Andrei Barbulescu, Pharm., PhD, is a pharmacoepidemiologist and data analyst at the European Medicines Agency (EMA), where he is part of the Data Analytics and Methods Task Force, specifically within the Real World Evidence (RWE) workstream. He conducts non-interventional studies using electronic healthcare records available at the EMA and oversees studies conducted through the DARWIN-EU network, providing real-world evidence for various EMA stakeholders and committees.
Previously, Andrei worked in academic research at Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden, where he earned his MSc in public health epidemiology and his PhD in pharmacoepidemiology. He also has experience in the pharmaceutical industry, particularly in the field of pharmacovigilance.
