Associate Professor Magda Raban (PhD, MIPH, BPharm) leads the Medication Safety and Electronic Decision Support research stream within the Australian Institute of Health Innovation, Macquarie University. Prior to working in research, Magda was a practicing pharmacist for close to ten years. Magda’s research focuses on the use of information technology to improve medication safety, the quality use of medicines and patient outcomes across a range of care settings, including acute care and aged care. Her interests include how the design of electronic decision support systems can be optimised to deliver guideline-based care, and how routinely collected data can inform quality improvement. Magda has experience leading multi-method evaluations, including randomised trials of health service interventions.
