Dr. Elvira D'Andrea is a Director of Epidemiology in Global Epidemiology at AbbVie, where she has worked in the Pharmacoepidemiology center of excellence (PeCoE) for over 1.5 years, providing support for PMOS and methodologies for observational studies.
In addition to her clinical experience as a physician, Dr. D'Andrea holds a MPH with a focus on quantitative methods and a PhD in epidemiology, specializing in pharmacoepidemiology and the use of real-world data. Prior to joining AbbVie, she received her training and conducted research at the Division of Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacoeconomics at Harvard Medical School and Mass General Brigham Hospitals in Boston.
Her expertise includes extensive use of large administrative databases to conduct research on the comparative safety and effectiveness of medications, as well as their utilization, particularly in the field of immunology. She has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles, including in high-impact journals such as Jama, JACC, and BMJ.
