Nivantha has over 14 years’ experience in the hospital and healthcare industry. She is a qualified medical doctor specialized in primary emergency care and a published epidemiologist and research methodologist.
Nivantha’s expertise is applied epidemiology, leading the design and conduct of multinational real-world research projects. She is specialized across evidence generation designs and methods, including evidence synthesis (SLR, MA, NMA, living methods), primary data generation (direct to participant and site-based cohorts and registries) and secondary data-based analytics (claims/administrative data, EHR data, registries). This includes advanced analytics for causal inference in comparative PPASS/PPAES. She is therapeutic area agnostic and leverages her clinical background for any therapeutic domain across a global geographic scope although, she does have specific expertise in pregnancy safety in secondary data, rare diseases and cancer.
Nivantha also has experience with the design and conduct of applied evidence synthesis for the spectrum of systematic quantitative and qualitative reviews including methodological reviews and critical appraisal. She contributed to the Covid-NMA “Living” Evidence Synthesis initiative. Nivantha also has expertise on RCT methodology including pragmatic trials, ROB evaluation and trial recruitment/retention research. An ardent patient and research participant advocate, she conceptualized Research Burden, i.e., the burden experienced by patients as RCT participants.
Nivantha is currently focused on leveraging her meta-research and methodological expertise for consulting on integrated RWD analytics/RWE generation strategies towards interconnected scalable evidence ecosystems. She has founded structured and systematic consulting solutions achieving transformative internal capacity building and business development impacts.
Nivantha was clinically trained and received her medical degree and specialist diploma in South Africa; her master’s degree in public health specialized in epidemiology and biostatistics at EHESP, France; and a master’s degree in comparative research methods at Paris Descartes University, France.
