Mayura Shinde, DrPH, MPH, is a Research Scientist in the Department of Population Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute. Mayura received both her Doctorate in Epidemiology and Environmental Health and her MPH in Epidemiology from Texas A&M Health Science Center. She has been with Sentinel for more than five years and has worked on several projects conducting post-marketing drug safety research. Her research focuses on drug safety assessment in pregnant population and recently contributed to the international collaborative study examining impact of COVID-19 in pregnant patients.
She also has experience using inpatient elelctronic health data for monitoring trends in COVID-19 hospitalizations among adults and pediatric population. Further, participated in some validation studies including validation of Stillbirths using claims defined algorithm and application of natural language processing and machine learning methods for validation of acute anaphylaxis cases. She delivered several external public training at FDA showcasing Sentinel tool capabilities and more recently delivered training on the new pregnancy algorithm capabilities.
