Sylvie ESCOLANO, PhD, Inserm
I have a background in biostatistics. For about ten years, I have specialized in the field of pharmacoepidemiology, with two preferred areas of application: (i) vaccine safety (estimation of the risk of adverse event following immunization and quantitative assessment of risk-benefit balance for some vaccines) and (ii) drugs exposure during pregnancy, studying their effect on pregnancy outcome (preterm birth, miscarriage, birth defect).
The two types of data resources I use in my studies are those from pharmacovigilance spontaneous reporting systems, and the French medico-administrative database (SNDS: Système National des Données de Santé).
I am a member of the French NITAG (Commission Technique des Vaccinations).
Within the Global Vaccine Data Network (https://www.globalvaccinedatanetwork.org/), I am the investigator of the French site.
