Hanan Nabeel Abunimeh, PhD student, clinical pharmacist, University of Strathyclyde.
I am a clinical pharmacist with eight years of professional experience, including six years in hospital settings and two years as the head of the pharmacy department. Currently, I am pursuing a PhD at the University of Strathclyde in the United Kingdom.
I hold a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy and a Master's degree in Clinical Pharmacy, which laid the foundation for my expertise in patient care and medication management.While working as a clinical pharmacist in hospital, I have developed and implemented medication therapy management programs, improved patient outcomes, and led a team of pharmacists in a hospital environment. My leadership role as the head of the pharmacy department involved strategic planing,updating and implementing effective policies and procedures, and the safe and effective delivery of patient focused pharmacy services. In addition to ensuring regulatory compliance, and enhancing the quality of pharmaceutical services.
My PhD research project is centered on pharmacoepidemiology and drug utilizationin using patient-level data from Scotland, to explore prescribing patterns and trends, particularly in cardiovascular diseases. This involves using a variety of statistical and analytical methods to conduct big data analysis, aiming to improve the quality of medication use in populations.
My skills and experties include big data analysis, pharmacoepidemiology, cardiovascular pharmacotherapy, research methodology and leadership and team management.
Open to both national and international collaborations with fellow researchers and academics to advance the field of clinical pharmacy and drug utilisation.
