Associate Director of Pharmacoepidemiology
Regeneron Pharmaceuticals
Alex Breskin is an epidemiologist and biostatistician at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals specializing in the design, implementation, and analysis of observational studies.
Methodologically, his work has focused on developing methods for producing robust, policy-relevant evidence using one or more data sources and for characterizing, assessing, and minimizing the conditions needed for internal and external validity. Substantively, he has worked in a wide range of disease and therapeutic areas, with a particular focus on pharmacoepidemiology. He is also interested in the implementation of complex study designs using large, administrative "big data" sources, with an eye towards efficiency and reproducibility, as well as presenting and communicating modern epidemiologic methods and concepts to lay audiences.
In addition to his role at Regeneron, Alex is also an Adjunct Assistant Professor of epidemiology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Prior to his career in epidemiology, he spent 5 years working in the quantitative finance industry.
