Dr. Lauren E. Parlett, currently a senior research scientist at Carelon Research, iscontributing to Elevance Health's mission to improve the health of humanity. Armed with her passion for programming languages and her education that includes a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and a BS in Cellular and Molecular Biology from The Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Parlett has dedicated her career to advancing the field of public health research. Her tenure at The Johns Hopkins University as a Senior Research Data Analyst provided her expertise in research data cleaning and management techniques. Shifting to Carelon Research, she has seamlessly integrated her formal training in biology and epidemiology to conduct an extensive array of projects. Presently, she leads the FDA Sentinel portfolio and consults on using common data models. Other projects that she leads examine medication efficacy,disease progression, and safety outcomes. In addition, Dr. Parlett's commitment to leveraging large-scale data and advancing rigorous scientific methodologies is noteworthy. Having worked with stakeholders from Elevance Health, she has delivered results pivotal to boosting member health, enhancing plan quality, and moving towards operational success. Moreover, she offers guidance on complex statistical methodology, data visualization, and programming, reflecting her ability to lead and cultivate a data-driven culture of research within the organization. Her research experience, coupled with her keen interest in diverse public health issues, has resulted in many publications and collaborations. Notably, Dr. Parlett's research areas span women's reproductive health, phthalate exposure, outcomes research, and data visualization, among others. Her work has been extensively published in peer-reviewed journals and presented at global symposiums.
