Adebola Ajao, PhD, MPH, Acting Deputy Director, Division of Epidemiology-II, Office of Surveillance and Epidemiology, Center for Drug Evaluation and Research, Food and Drug Administration. Dr. Ajao is a pharmacoepidemiologist with a decade of drug safety research and regulatory experience. Dr. Ajao received a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from Purdue University, a Master of Public Health with concentration in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from Boston University, and a Ph.D. in Molecular Epidemiology from the University of Maryland Baltimore. Dr. Ajao’s background and interests are in infectious diseases, reproductive health, use of real world evidence for evaluating effectiveness and safety of drugs, safety of drugs in pregnancy, and health policy. Dr. Ajao also has interest in health equity, understanding racial differences, and effects of social determinants of health in drug safety research.
