Fahad Alshatti, MSc, is a Clinical Pharmacist and a PhD student at the University of Strathclyde, specialising in antibiotic use and stewardship. He earned his Master’s degree in Clinical Pharmacy from the University of Strathclyde in 2020. With over six years of experience in a public hospital in Kuwait, Fahad is currently focusing his PhD research on evaluating and improving prescribing practices of surgical antibiotic prophyalxis in the Obstetrics and gynaecology departments to enhance antibiotic use in the clinical settings. His aim is to imrove the quality of the prescribing practice and bridge the gap between clinical practice and policy-making to improve the efficacy of antibiotic stewardship programs in Kuwait.
