The Center for Drug Safety and Effectiveness is training the next generation of leaders in pharmacoepidemiology and drug safety. Through the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and Johns Hopkins Medicine, the Center supports a diverse group of trainees, from masters' and doctoral students to clinical residents, fellows and junior faculty. These courses are available to both degree-seeking students and non-degree-seeking candidates, and may be pursued as part of a formal certificate program in Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety. In addition, the International Society of Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE) has an active student chapter at Johns Hopkins. Our core faculty are experts in pharmacoepidemiology methods and clinical medicine, with particular expertise in opioid use and misuse, anticoagulants, and pharmaceuticals used in outpatient primary care.
