Catherine Cohet, PhD, is a Pharmacoepidemiology Senior Specialist in the Real-World Evidence (RWE) Workstream of the Data Analytics & Methods Task Force at the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in Amsterdam. Before joining EMA , she held various industry positions, generating and evaluating RWE across all phases of medicines development, with a focus on vaccines. She also worked as an epidemiologist at the Centre for Public Health Research and the Malaghan Institute for Medical Research in Wellington, New Zealand, and at the WHO International Agency for Research on Cancer in Lyon, France.
At EMA, she works on public health emergency preparedness as Steering Group member of the EMA/ECDC Vaccine Monitoring Platform, and on guidance on generation and use of RWE. She is an expert member of the WHO Global Advisory Committee on Vaccine Safety, co-chair of the ENCePP (European Network of Centres for Pharmacoepidemiology and Pharmacovigilance), and represents EMA in RWE-related ICH and international collaborations with regulatory agencies.
