Carmen Canete Ramirez is a hospital pharmacist at Vall d'Hebron Pediatric Hospital in Barcelona, Spain and a Fonds de Recherche Santé du Québec funded master’s degree candidate in pharmacoepidemiology at the University of Montreal in Canada. As a clinician, she is specifically interested in asthma outcomes in children. Her thesis focuses on applying target trial emulation approaches to real-world administrative health data in Quebec to determine whether antibiotic exposure can potentially trigger asthma exacerbations in children with new-onset asthma. Her ultimate goal is to bridge her clinical experience with research, ultimately driving improvements in pediatric healthcare, particularly for pediatric respiratory diseases such as asthma.
