Mr Vincent Yan is a PhD candidate in pharmacoepidemiology at The University of Hong Kong. He is a pharmacist by training and obtained his Bachelor of Pharmacy degree with First Class Honours in 2018. After licensure as a registered pharmacist, he joined the Centre for Safe Medication Practice and Research. His research interest is in utilizing real-world data from electronic medical records to evaluate the safety, effectiveness, utilization trends and cost-effectiveness of medications, particularly in cardiovascular medicine, mental health and infectious disease. His recent work focuses on applying target trial emulation, self-controlled case series and other methodolgies to assess the safety and effectiveness of oral anticoagulants, lipid-modifying and antidiabetic agents.
