Michael Steinbuch is employed by Procter & Gamble in R&D. For the past 10+ years, he has served as Global Head of Postmarket Product Vigilance, Global Safety Surveillance & Analysis, Global Product Stewardship. Michael provides strategic leadership, organizational vision and oversight of activities in support of monitoring safety surveillance of investigational and marketed products, and is responsible for development and implementation of policies that support best practices in pharmacovigilance/product vigilance. From 2009-2013, Michael was employed by Johnson & Johnson, Medical Devices & Diagnostics (MD&D), where he served as Executive Director, Epidemiology, Safety & Surveillance Center of Excellence, with a focus on supporting Operating Companies within MD&D in the conduct of proactive post marketing safety surveillance of products, as well as the design and execution of observational research. Michael previously worked for Procter & Gamble’s Pharmaceutical division for 12 years, where he led a team of scientists in R&D in the conduct of health outcomes research. Michael has extensive research experience in academia and industry, and has a strong publication record. Michael also holds an appointment as Adjunct Associate Professor of Clinical Pharmacy at the University of Cincinnati’s James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy. Michael received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Miami University, a Master of Science degree in Preventive Medicine from The Ohio State University, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Epidemiology from The Ohio State University.
