Dr Tanja Mueller is a lecturer in Pharmacoepidemiology and Health Services Research at the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow, Scotland. She has graduated with a degree in pharmacy from TU Braunschweig (Germany) and has worked in community pharmacies in Germany before obtaining an MPH at Lund University (Sweden). She completed a PhD in Pharmacoepidemiology at the University of Strathclyde (Scotland). Her main areas of expertise are drug utilisation research/medication adherence; mixed-methods research; and the design, conduct, and analyses of cohort studies. While most of her projects are in the areas of cancer and cardiovascular diseases, she is also involved in studies focusing on mental health, polypharmacy, and medicines use in pregnancy. In addition to her post at the Strathclyde Institute of Pharmacy and Biomedical Sciences, she holds an honorary appointment with Public Health Scotland where she supports various projects, working with local analysts one day a week.
