Liz Bell, PhD, is a Senior Research Scientist at Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Institute (HPHCI). At HPHCI, she is a researcher on post authorization vaccine safety studies as well as collaborates with the FDA on the Sentinel Initiative. She has considerable experience leading quality epidemiologic research, which she oversees from study design to dissemination, and has over nine years of experience in the field of pharmacoepidemiology. Her experience and publications span a wide range of topics, including cardiovascular, vaccines, oncology, pregnancy, and leveraging electronic health record and claims data for research. Dr. Bell received her master’s in public health and doctoral degrees in epidemiology from the University of Minnesota. After graduation, she completed a three-year postdoctoral fellowship in pharmacoepidemiology at Mayo Clinic, after which she continued her research partnership with Mayo Clinic as a Research Collaborator. Dr. Bell is also an active member of the International Society of Pharmacoepidemiology, where she has been elected to serve on the leadership team for the Vaccines Special Interest Group.
