Azza Shoaibi holds the position of Associate Director with Janssen Research and Development, Inc. Her career is marked by innovation, leadership, and dedication to enhancing healthcare practices. Azza's educational journey began with a degree in the science of pharmacy. She later completed a Ph.D. in epidemiology, followed by a post-doctorate in biomedical informatics from the Medical University of South Carolina. Her diverse training has enabled her to approach healthcare challenges from various angles and to develop innovative solutions. In the early stages of her career, Azza focused on identifying and evaluating measures for chronic disease prevention, early detection, and control, along with medication safety and effectivene. Azza's collaboration with the Observational Health Data Sciences and Informatics (OHDSI) community has spanned several years, fostering shared knowledge and yielding innovative healthcare solutions. Recently, Azza has embraced new leadership roles at Janssen and OHDSI, specifically focusing on phenotyping. Her current methodological research is aimed at developing and evaluating phenotypes to identify health events of interest in observational data.
