Dr. Fatma Karapinar is an associate professor. Her research is focused on transitional care for elderly patients. This includes deprescribing
(e.g. of prescribing cascades, temporally indicated medication in the hospital), reducing patient harm (avoidable hospital readmissions, emergency department visits or adverse drug events after hospital discharge), collaboration with primary healthcare providers, and using big data (machine learning and
text mining).
