Yueh-Yi Chiang, BSPharm, is a dedicated PhD candidate in Practice, Sciences, and Health Outcomes Research (P-SHOR), University of Maryland, Baltimore. Rooted in a strong foundation as a trained pharmacist, Yueh-Yi embarked on her academic journey by joining the Masters program in the Department of P-SHOR in 2021 and subsequently entered the PhD program in 2022. Currently, she serves as the president for the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology (ISPE) student chapter at the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy.
Yueh-Yi's current PhD study concentrates on pharmacoepidemiology. Her research primarily focuses on the appropriate and optimal use of treatments for individuals with complex health needs. She leverages pharmacoepidemiology, causal inference, and real-world data to generate valid and actionable evidence to inform clinical decisions and healthcare delivery. Her ongoing research topic centers around medication utilization, treatment patterns, disparities, and mental health disorders.
