Dr. Jin Tan is a professor and doctoral supervisor at the Chinese Evidence-based Medicine Center, West China Hospital of Sichuan University. She is recognized as a scholar under the Top Young Talent of the National Special Support Program. Currently, she serves as the Deputy Director of the Chinese Evidence-based Medicine Center and the Executive Vice Director of the NMPA Key Laboratory for Real World Data Research and Evaluation in Hainan. Dr. Tan also holds vice-chairmanship positions in the Real World Study Committee of the China Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the Clinical Research Chapter of the China Information Association of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
Prof. Tan's research focuses on clinical studies involving real-world data, large-scale cohorts of pregnant women and their offspring, and evidence-based Traditional Chinese Medicine. She has secured numerous national-level grants, including projects from the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), sub-projects of the National Key Research and Development Program, and the National Science and Technology Major Project. Prof. Tan has spearheaded the development of a population-based cohort of over 1 million pregnant women, with a follow-up period spanning 10 years (i.e., REPRESENT and DEEP). Her prolific research output includes publications in prestigious journals such as BMJ, Int J Epidemiol,Eur J Epidemiol and J Clin Epidemiol. Prof. Tan was recognized among the top 2% of the world's leading scientists for 2023.
