My name is Kazi Ishtiak-Ahmed. I am a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Affective Disorders, Aarhus University Hospital Psychiatry, Denmark. I am trained as an epidemiologist with a wide range of research experience in mental health, occupational health, aging, and diabetes. My current research focuses on pharmacoepidemiology in psychiatry, with a major emphasis on improving the pharmacological treatment outcomes of late-life depression.
My research generates real-world evidence by applying conventional methods in observational settings, such as cohort and case-control studies, as well as novel methods, including the emulation of target trials. I am dedicated to working with large and complex datasets (i.e., big data), such as business intelligence (BI) data and nationwide registry data, using R and SAS programming languages to generate knowledge that contributes to medicine based on predictive modeling algorithms.
