Myriam Alexander, PhD, MPhil, MsC is an Associate Director in Epidemiology at AstraZeneca. She is the referrent epidemiologist for the cardiovascular, renal and metabolic portfolio and supports with overseeing global post-marketing safety studies, authoring epidemiology sections of safety regulatory documents and providing epidemiology to contextualise adverse event rates observed in trials and to support the risk management strategy. By training, Myriam is a real-world epidemiologist and statistician experienced in evidence generating study delivery and oversight, business development and line-management. Her experience span the use of UK secondary databases, including Clinical Practice Research Datalink (CPRD), Hospital Episode Statistics (HES) and other/linked databases (OPCRD, THIN, ONS, IMD, DID); as well as European datasets and US claims databases and disease registries.
